Installing a GRP Door Canopy

Installing a GRP Canopy

In our previous blog, I promised some information about the ease of installation. Well, please keep reading;

Our canopies have been designed not only for durability, fine looks and established design cues. They are indeed, easy to install with no specialist tools required.

Required tools are;

  • Hammer drill
  • Spirit level
  • Tape measure
  • Screwdriver
  • Skeleton (silicone/mastic) gun
  • Hammer

Your canopy will be delivered to you with a maximum of three separate parts. Two gallows brackets and the canopy roof.

1; Drill two evenly spaced holes through each of the brackets and into the wall in your desired position. Then fix the brackets to the wall with your desired fixings.

2; Lift your canopy onto the firmly fixed brackets, centralise, push back to your wall and then simply drill up through the gallows brackets, (two holes in each) and screw the brackets to the canopy.

3; You now have to simply drill five evenly spaced fixings though the canopy flashing lip to your wall.

All fixings should be covered by the colour-coded caps supplied to ensure there are no unsightly exposed screw heads.

Finally, it is optional to seal the flashing lip to your wall using a suitable colour matched sealant. Dark grey sealants are readily available.

And that’s it. No specialist tools nor skills required.

Full step by step instructions are provided with all of our canopies which makes fitting your new canopy a complete breeze.
